Having been performing on the underground scene in London for many years, Joe Whitney (The Flaming Stars, Minxus etc) is no stranger to making good music and developing his own sound.
THE TROPICS OF CANCER is the new and unpredictable brainchild of this multi-talented musician/songwriter, and we are proud to bring you 3 slices of a knife-cut atmosphere. Built around the sensual vocal of Vicki Churchill, 'Catch a Corner' languishes in a place of its own, uncategorizable yet quite at ease with itself. Borrowing elements of music from the '50s to the '90s, this piece can be said to truly define the eclecticism that we hear so much about these days. 'Moodswings' and 'Zoot Stick' continue in the same vein; a warm, refreshing yet melancholy style that's hard to pin down and so in turn offers a melodic and rhythmical antithesis to much of the music on offer today.
